Information Communication Technology

This course provides learners with practical skills in computer operations, digital communication, and information management. Students are trained in computer hardware and software, office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), internet use, basic networking, and computer maintenance.

The program emphasizes hands-on training to prepare learners for employment, self-employment, or further studies in ICT-related fields.

Graduates can work as computer operators, ICT support assistants, data entry clerks, or office administrators.

Training Format

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the ICT course, learners will be able to:

  • Operate a computer system and its peripheral devices efficiently.
  • Install and manage basic computer software and operating systems.
  • Use office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to create professional documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • Access and use internet and email services effectively and safely.
  • Perform basic computer maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Apply fundamental networking and cybersecurity principles.
  • Demonstrate responsible and ethical use of ICT resources.

Minimum entry requirements

- KCPE or KCSE Certificate

- National ID / Birth Certificate

- 2 Passport-size Photographs

- Basic literacy and numeracy skills

- Basic computer literacy is an added advantage but not mandatory.

- Personal stationery (notebooks, pens, flash disk, etc.).

Equipment available at institution

A computer lab with 22 functional computers.

Graduates of this course will be awarded a nationally recognized certificate upon successful completion, examined by either NITA (Grade III–I) or KNEC (Artisan/Craft Level), depending on the selected track.
